July.22, 2019: The parents of three children, who drowned after falling in a pit filled with rain water last night at village Khoje Majra accompanied by the relatives and hundreds of supporters today refused to take the dead bodies of their three children and blocked the traffic on Sirhind-Chandigarh Road in front of DC offce demanding registration of case and arrest of the land owner who dig the pit, the village Sarpanch who present when the pit was dig and others responsible for the death of their children. Tragic scenes were witnessed when sitting on dharna the mother of three deceased sons fainted and the other ladies were consoling her and father of the deceased was crying for justice, the situation was further aggravated as local opposition leaders’ added fuel and instigated them by giving political colour. The police in a hurry registered the FIR u/s 304-A on the Statement of the father of deceased against Parminder Singh owner of the land where pit was dig, his younger brother Sikandar Singh and village Sarpanch Amrinder Singh alias Lalli and arrested Parminder Singh, but they were protesting that the case should be registered under section 304 not 304-A and arrest of all accused.
It is worth mentioning that late last night three children identified as Jasanpreet Singh 12, Jobanpreet Singh 11 and Lovepreet Singh 8 all students of village Govt. School of class 7th, 5th and 4th were drowned as during playing in the ground they slipped into a pit dig by one Parminder Singh in his agriculture land adjoin to play ground to put the rain water in it to save his paddy in Five Acre which was submerged in rain water. Interestingly the fourth boy was saved by the villagers.

As per the FIR registered on the Statement of Nirmal Singh father of three deceased sons, who runs an electric repair shop at Sirhind said that he got a call from his wife Charanjit Kaur that Parminder Singh and Sikandar Singh had dig a pit to store rain water for paddy and all our three children while playing in nearby ground slipped into it and they drowned they have been taken to civil hospital Fatehgarh Sahib. He said the death of his three children occurred due to negligence on the part of the land owners and the village Sarpanch who accompanied them to dig the pit, so all should be booked.
Later the families were persuaded by police officials and the post-mortem was conducted by a team of doctors and the dead bodies were handed over to family and cremated in evening.
When contacted Amneet Kondal SSP, she said that FIR has been registered and investigating the case.
