DC holds Monthly Review Meeting
Four Scanning Centers issued Show-Cause-Notice under PNDT Act
Ferozepur, July 22, 2019: In the month review meeting of various departments was held today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Chander Gaind.
It was brought to the notice of Deputy Commissioner that gender testing is illegal in India and under – Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act - PNDT Act, 11 screening centers were checking and four unauthorized centers, have been issued show-cause-notice.
Speaking about the schools, DC informed that additional class rooms at a cost of Rs.1.93 crores have been spent in the district and more than 1800 schools in the district are providing mid-day facility. He asked the officers to check the quality of food from time to time and ensure that hygienic food is being served to the children. He made it clear that there should be no laxity in this work failing strict action will be taken against the defaulting officials.
On reviewing the working of health department, DC informed that there is considerable improvement in the registration of pregnant women which has incrased from 68 per cent to 90 per cent. He informed that in 84 per cent cases the incentive amount has been released and the remaining will also be released after completing the documentation.
He asked the officials to speed up the issuance of birth and death certificates and any delay in issuing such certificates would be viewed seriously.
In order to continue the war against drugs, the district administration has proposed to set up OAT Centre in 17 Primary Health Centre in the district, said Deputy Commissioner so that drug addict persons could avail the facility to easily get rid of the drugs.
