Ferozepur based army division rescues 283 civilians stranded in floods
Advanced mobilization of Army personals proved to be helpful in flood hit villages
Ferozepur, August 20, 2019: Advanced mobilization of Army personals has proved to be helpful in the flood hit villages of Ferozepur district as 283 civilians has been rescued by in last 24 hours by the Ferozepur based Army division in four distinct places.
Action swiftly on the information of heavy downstream discharge in the River Satluj, deputy commissioner Ferozepur has mobilized the Army strength by making requisition to local Army division, which deployed its 8 officers, 11 JCO’s and 270 other ranks to help the flood affected people through carrying out rescue operations, providing medical assistance and other relief material.
All three column of local Army Division has rescued 283 people besides providing them medical assistance. All officers went into the deep water in search of stranded people and brought them to the safe places through motorboats and other means.
Another column of 71 officers is on standby mode at Mallanwala town. The deputy commissioner has sought this help from Ferozepur Army Division to combat floods, which became helpful in saving many precious lives.
