Chandigarh, August 22, 2019: Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh today did an aerial survey of flood-hit areas in Nawanshahr, Ludhiana, Phillaur, Shahkot and Lohian.
Floods have affected 30,000 people and crops in 108 villages have been damaged. There are 14 breaches in Sutlej river and considering the seriousness of the situation Government of Punjab has sought army’s help.
