Fatehgarh Sahib. August.22, 2019: State Govt. is committed for the overall development of Fatehgarh Sahib and various development projects worth Rs. 400 Crore are either in progress or some has been completed, said Kuljit Singh Nagra MLA Fatehgarh Sahib, while addressing a function organised to distribute pensions to beneficiaries of various schemes. He said that the increased amount worth Rs. 15.82 Crore have been directly transferred in the bank accounts of 52,961 beneficiaries of various schemes in the District.
Giving the details of development works in Fatehgarh Sahib Assembly constituency, he said that the project worth Rs 20 crore had been sanctioned for the conservation and maintenance of the historical and ancient structures along with the renovation of Maulsari Restaurant at Sirhind which is underway. He said that Govt. has constructed Baba Moti Ram Mehra Memorial near Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, at the cost of Rs. 5.50 crore. Construction of the new bus stand near grain market Sirhind and 4 blocks of the Toilets at Fatehgarh Sahib is in full swing. The roads leading to Fatehgarh Sahib have been up gradated and reconstructed at the cost of Rs.100 Crore, besides this Rs. 64 crore is being spent on the approximately 360 km village link roads. He said that in Sirhind-Fatehgarh Sahib town construction of 4 lane road had already been completed with the cost of Rs.2.80 crore and the Sirhind Choe has been strengthening and beautifying at the cost of Rs.3.50 crore.
He said besides this, project worth Rs. 19 crore had also been approved for the four laning of the roads from Diwan Todar Mall Gate to Gurdwara Joti Saroop Sahib and from Baba Banda Singh Bahadar Gate to Bhaironpur Bypass. He further disclosed that under the ongoing sewerage project at the cost Rs. 92.88 core, 100 KM long pipeline is being laid along with two pumping stations and three STPs, and more than 500 L.E.D lights will also be installed in Sirhind-Fatehgarh Sahib.
