Baru Sahib ( Himachal ) , August 25, 2019 : On the occasion of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji's 550th birth anniversary, a religious Samagam will be held at Sultanpur Lodhi by Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee in collaboration with Kalgidhar Trust Baru Sahib.
Kaka Navinderpreet Singh Longowal s/o. Bhai Gobind Singh Longowal, (President, SGPC) visited Gurdwara Baru Sahib along with his colleagues and also had talks on religious, social and education fronts with the officials of Trust.
Speaking on this occasion, Kaka Navinderpreet Singh said that though Shiromani Panth Ratan Baba Iqbal Singh of Baru Sahib have crossed the age of 90 years but the spirit with which he is serving the community is commendable and Baba ji is also keen to raise the standard of living of the rural girls and that is why the Trust has been providing 4 to 6 years’ free education to X and XII pass girls and after completion of Teachers Training, they are given employment in the Akal Academies, so they can be economically independent. During this Press meet, Bhai Jagjit Singh (Kaka Vir Ji), volunteer, Kalgidhar Trust Baru Sahib, informed that 550 volunteers from Baru Sahib shall serve at Sultanpur Lodhi and students from different academies of this trust shall perform Katha and Kirtan during 16th September to 16th October. Bhai Bakshish Singh and Dr. Harcharan Singh Dhaliwal, Vice Chancellor of Eternal University, Baru Sahib honored Kaka Navinderpreet Singh Longowal and his colleagues with Siropa. Chairman Jagsir Singh Kotra, Jathe. Randhir Singh Samura, Jasvir Singh Longowal, Rudra Thakur and Ankit Sharma were present on this occasion.
