Timely coordinated response reduces agony of flood affect, causes no loss of lives in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, August 31, 2019: Timely coordinated response from civil, police, army, NDRF and local citizens, to control the situatin on breach at the embankment at the Tendiwala village, reduced the agony of flood affect in Ferozepur and there was no loss of lives.
While reviewing the post-flood situation in the district, Deputy Commissioner Chander Gaind said, the edges at the Tendiwala village had damaged on account of sudden excess release of water from Pakistan but with the efforts of locals and rescue teams jointly saved the embankment from further breach.
Another ‘Ring Bundh’ was also erected overnight as a precautionary measure, was a commendable job of the team work, which finds no words for appreciation by the teams, This has also proved that in the hour of need all are one and stand with each other, said DC.
He said that the assessment of the financial and livestock losses caused by the floods was going on in full swing and all the officials have been asked to prioritize this work and to carry out the work with utmost seriousness. No negligence or delay in the assessment work will be tolerated, he added.
He said that the government was committed to compensate the people for their loss for which all kinds of reports are being prepared and the same will be sent to the government for further action for release of compensation accordingly. He said, the government, the district administration stand with the people affected with floods.
