To give voice to silenced Kashmiris, SAD (A) to organize protest rally at Delhi on Sept. 26
Ferozepur, September 22, 2019: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) – SAD (A) in its meeting today held under the tutelage of Gurcharan Singh Bhullar at Ferozepur decided to organize a rally at Delhi, in association with various outfits – Dal Khalsa, United Akali Dal, Panthak Front, Bahujan Mukti Morcha, Studients For Society and Hum Bekar Party - on September 26, to support and give voice to silenced Kashmiris.
It’s a protest rally against the scrapping of a constitutional provision that granted special status to India-administered Kashmir and later on, starting detention of Kashmiris and fake proceedings, said Bhullar.
Addressing the meeting, Bhullar said, With the cancellation of Section 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, the Modi government has started atrocities on Kashmirs rather in other words murdered the democracy in J&K.
Added here, article 370, which came into effect in 1949, allowed the state to have limited autonomy, in certain areas and had prevented non-residents from buying any property, in the dispute region. While the Article 35A was introduced in 1954 to continue the old provisions of the territory regulations under Article 370. It empowered the state's legislature to define ‘permanent residents’ and provide special rights and privileges to them.
Under the guidance of Simranjit Singh Mann, President, SAD(A), the party has decided to organize a protest rally at Delhi for which the duties have been allotted to the workers.
Bhullar said, the rally will start from Banga Sahib Gurdwara Sahib at 10 am up to Jantar Mantar.
