9 persons penalized for selling sub-standard material under Food Safety Act
Ferozepur, September 23, 2019: The court of Ravinder Singh, ADC-cum-Adjudicating Officer imposed the penalty in 9 cases under the Food Safety Act 2006 for selling sub-standard material.
Giving this information, Food Safety Officer said, any person who whether by himself or by any other person on his behalf manufactures for sale or stores or sells or distributes or imports any article of food for human consumption which is sub-standard, shall be liable to a penalty, under the Act. In all, the nine cases, Rs.67,000 penalty has been imposed besides issuing a warning to be careful in future, he added.
Prior to imposing of penalty, the food samples were sent to the food testing laboratory at Kharar, who declared it as sub-standard, said Dhillon FSO.
He further said, a penalty of Rs.10,000 each was imposed on Kale Di Dairy, Rakesh Kumar, Gurmit Singh, Atul Dhawan and Krishan Lal, while Rs.5000 each to Manpreet Singh of Baba Dairy, Hardyal Singh of village Badala, Rs.4,000 to Sandeep Kumar of Mohan Ke Hittar and Rs.3,000 to Jaswant Singh of Habib Wala.
