Workshop on Flipped Learning and ICT Enabled Teaching Learning inaugurated at Guru Nanak Dev University

Amritsar, October 09, 2019: A two-week workshop on ‘Flipped Learning and ICT Enabled Teaching Learning’ under Centre of Pre-Service Teacher Education, School of Education under Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching (PMMMNMTT) scheme, MHRD, is being organized at the Department of Education, Guru Nanak Dev University. As many as 28 participants from various universities and colleges of India especially from Jhansi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Varanasi are participating in this workshop.
The workshop was inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Jaspal Singh Sandhu. While inaugurating the workshop, Prof. Sandhu emphasized to incorporate new developments in the field of technology to teaching & learning. He further motivated teachers to develop quality E-Content in their respective fields and share with various stakeholders. He said that the Government of India is also initiating many steps to develop quality e-contents regarding e-learning to encourage students. This will also improve teaching and provide quality content. In this context, he also shared that Guru Nanak Dev University is also taking initiatives to develop quality e-content in the upcoming studios in the University and share this not only to university students but affiliated college students too.
Prof Amit Kauts, Project Coordinator, School of Education while welcoming the guests and participants said that the objective of this workshop is to acquaint teachers with new technologies in the field of teaching-learning. He said that the idea is to engage students through various technologies and using classroom time for reflective thinking. This would help students to attain higher-order cognitive goals.
Dr. Deepa Sikand Kauts, Head, School of Education, emphasized the use of ICT in teaching-learning, in this era of multiple challenges especially where the information travels at the speed difficult to match human brains. The social challenges are multiplying day by day. Teamwork, Co-operative learning, Collaborative learning is becoming the need of the hour. Dr. Deepa Sikand Kauts proposed a vote of thanks on this occasion.
