99.48 percent applications disposed off within set timeline
Sangrur, October 20, 2019: The 'Seva Kendras' set up by the Punjab government to provide transparent and timely public services to citizens are proving a boon for the people. 'Seva Kendras' of District Sangrur are at top place with minimum pendency rate.
Divulging the detail Deputy Commissioner Sangrur Mr. Ghanshyam Thori said that as per the current data of e-district and e-seva project, District Sangrur is at top place with disposal of 99.48 percent applications till October 18, 2019. Pendency rate is only 0.52 percent, which is minimum across the state.
The Deputy Commissioner said that a total of 223 public services including online, offline and third party party services (eg. passport, Aadhaar, PSPCL, BSNL Bill etc.) are being provided in 31 Seva Kendras of district. There are 47 online, 112 offline and 64 third party related services, which are concerned with 20 departments. Some services have been merged due to being online, DC added.
Mr. Thori said that as of October 18, 2019, a total of 4,95,118 applications for online services, 6,01,843 offline and 2,61,574 third party applications have been received. More than 99 percent services are being provided on time and this is achieved by regular monitoring, review meetings and strict accountability, Mr. Thori added.
