BSF recovers heroin from Indo-Pak border
Ferozepur, October 22, 2019: The Border Security Force jawans last night recovered 1.50 kg heroin from near Indo-Pak border, thrown across the fencing wire in three plastic bottles. The value of heroin is said to be more than Rs.5 crore in the international market.
On 22 October 2019, alert Border Security Force troops seized 03 Plastic Bottles filled with contraband (Weight approx-1.05 Kgs) suspected to be Heroin in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post- Satpal, Ex- 136Bn BSF, Ferozepur Sector.
On 22 Oct 2019 during night hours, vigilant BSF troops of Border Out Post- Satpal, Ex- 136 Bn BSF, Ferozepur Sector, noticed some suspicious sound and became alert. However, no movement could be observed due to darkness. Hence, to stop the misadventure of smugglers BSF troops opened fire but suspected smugglers managed to escape taking advantage of darkness and fully grown paddy crops. Later, during search 03 plastic bottles filled with contraband (Weight approx-1.05 Kgs) suspected to be heroin recovered from the spot.
The enhanced vigil of BSF has once again thwarted the attempt of Anti-National Elements to push the Consignment of Contraband items into India. During the year 2019, BSF has affected under mentioned seizures on Punjab Border:- Heroin : 180.043 Kgs (including today’s Seizure of approx. 1.05 Kgs) Opium : 366 Gms Indian border crosser apprehended : 68 Nos Indian smugglers apprehended : 10 Nos Weapons (Different Types) : 10 Nos Ammunition (Various Calibers) : 455 Rds Indian SIM Cards : 17 Nos PAK SIM Cards : 15 Nos Indian Mobile Phone : 17 Nos
