Army College of Nursing organizes Conference on ‘Recent Advancements In Infection Control and Vaccine Safety’
Jalandhar, October 22, 2019: National conference on “Recent Advancement in Infection Control & Vaccine Safety” was organized by Army College of Nursing, Jalandhar Cantt today at Ashoka Hall of the college. Lieutenant General Arvind Dutta, General Officer Commanding (GOC), Vajra Corps was the Chief Guest and Mrs Jacinta G from AIIMS New Delhi was the Guest of Honour. The function was also attended by senior Army officers and delegates from reputed Nursing Institutions & Hospitals from Punjab, Jammu, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh.
Army College of Nursing was established in Aug 2005 at Military Hospital Jalandhar Cantt as a premier institution for imparting quality nursing education to female wards of serving and retired army personnel at an affordable cost and 223 students are presently enrolled in the college.
During his address, the GOC Vajra Corps highlighted the role of nursing as one of the noblest professions and encouraged students to work hard and take pride in it. He also mentioned about the importance of preventive health care and various aspects pertaining to Infection Control and Vaccination.
The event was attended by approximately 100 delegates from various nursing institutes / Hospitals. The conference helped the delegates to gain practical knowledge of how the infections can be prevented and reduced. The role of vaccines was also discussed. The Poster Competition, Paper Presentation and Exhibition were the centres of attraction among delegates.
