MRSPTU CAMPUS WINS OVERALL TROPHY
BATHINDA, NOVEMBER 14, 2019: Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU) Bathinda’s 5th Inter-Zonal Youth Festival titled as "Sarbat Da Bhala” aimed to promote talent and culture concluded amidst much fanfare at University campus.
MRSPTU main campus bagged the overall trophy, whereas Y.S. College, Handiaya bagged the first runner-up trophy.
With the theme “Sarbat Da Bhala” (Blessings for All)' formed the essence of Guru Nanak Dev's teachings; the festival was dedicated to celebrations of 550th Birthday Anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji.
The festival comprised of various cultural and talent oriented performances, creative competitions and technical events. More than 500 students of participating Institutes affiliated to the University celebrated the spirit of life by performing in various events.
MRSPTU Campus student Harmandeep Singh was declared best male dancer, while Baba Farid College of Engineering and Technology (BFCET), student Harkirat Kaur was best female dancer. Similarly MRSPTU’s Jashandeep Kaur was judged Best actor female, while best actor male was Randhir Singh. Best debater was Guneet Gupta from S.D. College, Barnala.
Mr. Rajiv Arora, All India Radio, FM Station, Bathinda, Director was chief guest on the occasion, while Mrs. Lida Singh Ishar, first lady of MRSPTU Campus was guest of honour.
While speaking on the occasion, Mr. Arora called upon the audience to follow the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev. He said the festival is a unique platform for young talent and a celebration of youthful creativity and innovation.
Mrs. Lida Singh Ishar motivated the students to participate in all the fields to become holistic personality, build self-esteem and confidence of the youth.
Dr. B. S. Sekhon, former director, youth welfare department, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar and Prof. Ramanjit Kaur, News Reader Doordarshan were appointed as observer for the youth festival by the university.
Prominent judges for various events include Shri Balvinder Singh Vicky (Chacha Raunki Ram) Mrs. Teenu Sharma from Zee TV, Prof. Sukjinder Brar, Sudarshan Maini, Nimma Virk, Tarsem Singh, Khushbir Sidhu, Gurpreet Soni, Artist Amarjit Singh, Gaurav Vashiist, Mithun Mandal, Harpreet Rimpy, Beant Kaur, Jasdeep Kaur Johal and Gurdeep Dhiman.
MRSPTU, Director, Sports and Youth Welfare and chief coordinator. Mr. Bhupinder Pal Singh Dhot welcomed the guests. Festival co-ordinator Dr. Jatinder Kaur managed the stage very well.
The prize ceremony ended with Mrs. Lidha Ishar appreciating the organising team comprising for successfully organising the festival.
