Chandigarh, November 15, 2019: When Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Integrated Check Post at Dera Baba Nanak on November 9, the inauguration plaque had a glaring error. Inscriptions on it were in English and Hindi but not in Punjabi, the mother tongue of people of Punjab.
Advocate Gurlabh Singh Mahal pointed this out and Babushahi carried the news about the missing Punjabi inscription on the plaque.
Reacting to Babushahi’s report, Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Union Minister, Food Processing Industries, ordered that Punjabi inscriptions to be added to the plaque. She tweeted:
