Guru Nanak’s teachings are meant for qualitative education: Dr.Satinder Singh
Ferozepur, November 22, 2019: Education Department has done a commendable job by organizing ‘Gyan Utsav’ dedicated to 550th Parkash Purv of Guru Nanak Dev in all the government schools in the state and one such event was held in the Govt. Sr. Sec School, Gatti Rajo Ke, situated just near Indo-Pak international border.
Around 600 students participated in 10 different competitions and were showcasing their art under the guidance of dedicated teaching staff of the school under the tutelage of Dr.Satinder Singh, Principal. Guru Nanak Dev's painting by student Gurpreet Singh was the center of special fascination.
Speaking on the occasion National Awardee, Dr.Satinder Singh said, it is for the first time that education department has arranged Gyan Utsav dedicated to 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev with the aim of making the education interesting and encouraging every student to participle in co-curricular activities along with the bookish knowledge.
He said that Guru Nanak’s teachings are meant for qualitative education and inclusion of the same in the syllabus, which will be a ground-breaking revolutionary step towards education.
He congratulated the contestants and the winning children and inspired them to read and listen to Guru Nanak's teachings.
