Chandigarh, November 22, 2019: Jagtar Singh Hawara has been acquitted in the RDX and AK-56 case today by Additional Sessions Judge-I, Ludhiana, Arunvir Vashishta.
According to a FIR dated December 23, 1995, 5 kg of RDX, an AK-56 assault rifle along with 60 cartridges and a magazine, one remote control and one wireless set were recovered from the Kundanpuri area near Budha Nala, Ludhiana. Hawara was made the main accused in the case.
Human Right activist advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur diclosed that the case proceedings were done through video conferencing between the court in Ludhiana and Central Jail No. 8, Tihar, New Delhi, where Hawara is lodged.
