DC seeks action against SMO for callousness in duty, writes to PS Health
Ferozepur, December 7, 2019: Taking a serious notice of callousness in duty by SMO Ashok Thapar, a letter to the Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Chandigarh has been written by the Deputy Commissioner, to take disciplinary action for callousness and irresponsible behaviour with his senior officer.
As per the information, on December 6, certain members of NGO Sarbat Da Bhala had come to his chamber with regard to organizing a camp in Civil Hospital for handicapped children and informed that whenever anyone goes for medical treatment of children is referred to other hospitals by the doctor on duty.
The issue was discussed by the Deputy Commissioner, Chander Gaind, with Civil Surgeon and SMOs. However, during the conversation, the attitude of Ashok Thapar, SMO was not appreciable and expressed his views in a very callous tone. In this meeting, the local Beopar Manda President Chander Mohan Handa was also present.
Deputy Commissioner has also recommended to transfer SMO out of the district.
