Jalandhar, December 12, 2019: The Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma today called upon the youth to take inspirations from the supreme sacrifices made by our great heroes to safeguard the unity and integrity of the country.
Presiding over a function to pay homage to Shaheed Jeet Singh the Martyr of Indo-Pak war 1971 here today, the Deputy Commissioner said that Shaheed Jeet Singh laid down his life for the sake of the country.
He said that it was a matter of great pride for all of us that the martyrdom day of this great hero was being observed in a befitting manner. Sharma said that the youth and students must take inspiration from this great hero and serve the country with zeal and commitment.
The Deputy Commissioner further said that the war of 1971 was a turning point in the history of independent India. He said that the triumph of India in this war emerged it as a strong and vibrant nation in the world.
Sharma said that our motherland was a front runner country in the world coz of supreme sacrifices made by our great heroes.
The Deputy Commissioner also said that India is a country with the highest population of youths in the world and they have a huge responsibility on their shoulders to make India a superpower on the earth.
He told that society, administration, and nation will always thankful to martyrs who served the country with patriotic fervor to defend its sovereignty.
On the occasion, Lieutenant Colonel (Ret.) Manmohan Singh, School Principal Satnam Singh and others were present.
