Jalandhar, January 19, 2020: Ghar-Ghar Rozgar Yojna started by the Punjab government under Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh was acting as a catalyst to transform the destiny of the youth as around 15171 unemployed youth have been provided jobs by the District Bureau of Employment and Enterprise (DBEE) in the last three years.
District Bureau of Employment and Enterprise has organized around 105 job fairs/ placement camps in the district from April 1, 2018, to December 31, 2019.
During these camps, 15171 unemployed youth have been gainfully employed in several renowned companies.
This includes 8546 women and 6625 men, who got jobs in the last three years.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Kulwant Singh said that so far due to concerted efforts of the Bureau the unemployed youth have successfully got placements in several key companies including Cognixia, Itenic solutions, AGI Infrastructures, Edu Finn, 75 Way Technologies, Bajaj Allianz, Max Life, G Tech Softwares, Signicent, Pukhraj, OLA, Sacred Heart, V Con, LIC, Narayani, CSC, Star, Zomato, Kesoap, PNB, Shrimann, Narayani Herbals, Tech Mahindra, Star Health and Allied Insurance Sunmax, Satin Credit Care, Dream weaver, Sunmax, PK Education Experts, Rank Step Education and others.
He said that in the mega job fairs organized by the Bureau for the first time the industrial giants were visiting campuses of colleges to select suitable youth for the jobs.
He said that besides providing employment to youth, the DBEE was also offering services of career guidance, counseling, skill, entrepreneurship development, and free internet to the youth.
Deputy Director Employment Generation Jalandhar Sunita Kalyan said that DBEE had also organized mass counseling camps in 72 senior secondary schools during which 12297 students were made aware of future study avenues and relevant job opportunities.
