S. A. S. Nagar, January 21, 2020: "The importance of education in a person's cannot be neglected as it helps shape the destiny of children which are the future of a nation. The Punjab Government is fully committed to ensuring this which is evident from the way it has taken to the task to upgrade schools across the State to the level of smart schools."
Disclosing this here today at village Manauli on the eve of inaugurating the newly constructed building of the Government Primary Smart School of the village, the Health and Family Welfare Minister, Punjab, Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu said that the focus of the State Government is to make the schools of entire Punjab, hi-tech with ultra modern technology because the educational sector must also move forward in keeping with the latest technological trends. The minister assured the school management that he would leave no stone unturned to further render any assistance possible to the school.
Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu also added that Manauli deserves to be a Tehsil and he would undertake all efforts in this regard. He further said that a Community Centre is also on the anvil and a top class hospital is also in his scheme of things so as to ensure that the people don't have to rush to Chandigarh for medical treatment.
It is worth mentioning that in the Mohali constituency, around 22000-25000 Ration Cards have been generated and the number of Health Cards generated is 106473 out of which 5812 people have availed treatment facilities amounting to Rs. 7,50,00000. In terms of the Labour Scheme, Rs. 1,08,00000 have been credited into the accounts of around 750 beneficiaries. A total of Rs. 80 lakh have been spent on other welfare centric initiatives such as Scholarship for children of labourers and Shagan scheme for girls. All these activities have been undertaken by the Lok Bhalai Kendar which has been made functional owing to the efforts of Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu. The kendar has provided these facilities by visiting village after village.
The highlight of today's function were cultural items including songs by the students of the school.
