Fatehgarh Sahib. January.22, 2020: Sukhmani and Anupamjeet Kaur research students pursuing their PhDs from the Department of Chemistry of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University (SGGSWU), Fatehgarh Sahib have been nationally recognized for the SRF (Senior Research Fellowship) award by the CSIR (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research), New Delhi. It is worth mentioning that only 43 students from all over the India have been selected for this award.
Dr. Deepti Goyal, Assistant Professor and Dr. Bhupesh Goyal, Assistant Professor their guide said that due to hard work of these students their research work is consistently being published in the international research journals, which have earned them these awards. They said under this award, both the students will receive a total amount of Rs 9 lakh per annum during their entire PhD course. She said that it is a matter of great pride that earlier during the years 2018 and 2019, Dr. Suniba Shuaib and Rajneet Kaur were awarded by the CSIR.
Dr. Goyal said besides this her student Rajneet Kaur has achieved additional feat by bagging 750 Dollar scientific travel grant from Biophysical society to attend 64th annual conference to be held in San Diego, California, USA. In addition to this, Rajneet has been also awarded an International Travel Fellowship Grant from CSIR to attend this conference and for presenting her research work there. Vice-Chancellor of the University, Dr. Prit Pal Singh congratulated the students while showering praise for the Dr. Goyal’s brilliant research guidance to the students. He also shared that it is matter of great pleasure that the University students are also cracking competitive examinations like that of UGC-NET consistently. Dean Research Dr. R.K. Sharma also addressed.
