Patiala 28 January 2020: Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd. has informed only through press note that it has got another feather in its cap by achieving International Standard ISO 27001:2013 Information Security Certification based on the recently conducted Information Security Management System(ISMS) audit. PSPCL is the first Government Sector Power Utility in Northern India to achieve this certification. The prestigious certificate was received by Er.Baldev Singh Sran,CMD, PSPCL through team of M/s BSI Group India Pvt. Ptd.(M/s British Standards Institution headquartered at London, United Kingdom) represented by Mr. Ramesh Venkatesan( Chief Operating Officer,BSI), Mr. Premanand Remakrishnan (Director,BSI) and Mr. Narender Sharma (Branch Manager, BSI) in a simple ceremony here today. achievement.

This certification will help PSPCL to mange the security of IT assets including IT related electronic data which ensures business continuity of PSPCL. The implementation of Information Security framework minimize the risk of threats by monitoring, preventing and mitigating IT security incidents by reducing their potential impact. The certification demonstrates that PSPCL have identified the risks, assessed the implications and put in place systemized controls to prevent and limit damage to its Information Technology assets.
