MLA reiterates top priority to health and education services in the border district
Envisages PGI satellite center to be a milestone in the field of healthcare services and employment generation in Ferozepur
Says, all the vacant post in the civil hospital to be fulfilled by March
Ferozepur, February 23, 2020: Reiterating his commitment to providing top-class health and education services to the people of border district Ferozepur, MLA Parminder Singh Pinki on Sunday said that the Ferozepur district will emerge with one of the best health, education, and tourism infrastructure in the state.
Addressing the inaugural function of free eye medical checkup camp organized by Lions club greater Ferozepur, Mr. Pinki said that the advent of PGI satellite center in Ferozepur would prove to be a milestone in the field of healthcare services and from the employment-generation point of view. The MLA further envisaged the PGI to be a game-changer in the context of the holistic development of the border district.
He said that all the vacant positions of doctors in the civil hospital Ferozepur would soon be fulfilled and by March there will be no dearth of doctors in the hospital as the process of posting of doctors in Ferozepur is under process.
The MLA said that he has already taken various measures to improve the health and education indicators in the district by installing sanitary napkin vending machines on the one hand and RO systems in the government schools on the other.
Pinki hailed the efforts of Lions club and other non-government organizations for their pro-active role in the service of mankind by holding such social events.
Divulging the details of medical checkup camp, the project chairman HS Sangha and Dharamjit Singh said that a total of 567 patients took the benefits of services of expert doctors during the camp and 142 patients were selected for the operation. The selected patients would soon be provided with the operating facilities and the whole expenditure of operation including their transportation will be borne by the club. The project chairman further added that 170 patients availed the benefit of sugar tests and other blood tests in the camp.
