Chandigarh, February 24, 2020: Chairman Markfed, Sh. Amarjit Singh Samra visited Gulffood 2020 at World Trade Centre Dubai on 19.02.2020. Punjab Markfed alongwith its distributor/importer of G.C.C. countries i.e. Metel Trading LLC Dubai put up an impressive stall at Gulf Food exhibition and showcased whole range of products i.e. Ready-to-Eat (RTE) canned foods, pickles, murabhas, mustard oil etc. Hon’ble Chairman Samra also launched “SOHNA” Whole wheat atta on this occasion.
Chairman informed that Markfed SOHNA is a trusted brand for last 65 years and is known for providing quality products and spreading economic prosperity through rural landscape of Punjab. Whole wheat atta is the latest example wherein Golden wheat grains grown by the farmers of Punjab has been turned into quality Atta and will be distributed across G.C.C. Shelf life of SOHNA whole wheat atta is one year.
Under the dynamic leadership of Sh. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Hon’ble Cooperation Minister, Punjab and Sh. Varun Roojam, IAS, Managing Director, Markfed has also taken the initiative to bring about change in the packaging of its other products such as Mustard oil which has been re-launched in a new attractive design of I ltr PET Bottle and 5 ltr. can in tune with the changing customer taste and requirement. Punjab Markfed is ready to launch organic Atta in the GCC market as a healthy alternative.
Punjab Markfed has already applied for approval of organic atta from Dubai Municipality and expect a positive response shortly and shall be made available to consumers of G.C.C soon. In the RTE category, Punjab Markfed has been distributing its vegetable curries including its flagship product sarson-ka-saag in Tin cans for the last more than 25 years. In keeping with changing packaging trends, Markfed is ready with RTE in Retort Pouches.
