Two held with 8000 intoxicant tablets, Rs 40000 drug money in Moga
MOGA, February 26, 2020: The district police led by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Moga Harmanbir Singh Gill on Wednesday, arrested two persons after recovering 8000 intoxicant tablets and Rs 40000 drug money from their possession during a special checking under their ongoing campaign against drugs. The accused persons have been identified as Amandeep Singh, a resident of Amritsar road Moga and Jagtar Singh, a resident of Bedi Nagar Moga.
Superintendent of Police (SP Investigation) Harinder Pal Singh said that the police team from Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) led by in-charge Inspector Tarlochan Singh conducted special police checking at Kotkapura Bypass here. He said that the police party had stopped both the accused persons when they were going on their Acitva scooter. He said that during frisking 6000 intoxicant tablets and Rs 40000 drug money was recovered from accused Jagtar Singh while 2000 intoxicant tablets were recovered from the possession of accused Amandeep Singh.
SP Harinder Pal said that that the accused persons have been arrested and a case has been registered under sections 22-61-85 of the NDPS act at City police station Moga.
Meanwhile, the police have procured two days remand for both the accused persons after producing them in the court.
