Vajra Corps organizes Blood Donation Camp
Jalandhar : 26 Feb 2020: To mark the Platinum Jubilee of Vajra Corps, a blood donation camp was organised at Military Hospital Jalandhar Cantt today.
More than 50 serving personnel of various units of the Corps in Jalandhar Military Station voluntarily donated their blood during the camp. Major General Balwinder Singh, Chief of Staff, Vajra Corps while interacting with the donors highlighted that blood donation is the noblest & highest form of humanism and how a drop of blood donated can be instrumental in saving lives.
The aim of the blood donation camp was to commemorate the sacrifices of the gallant Vajra Warriors who have sacrificed their lives to safeguard the integrity of the Nation in various battles on the western front and maintain Internal Security while the Vajra Corps is celebrating its Platinum Jubilee on 01 Mar 2020.
Brigadier Vembu Anand, Commandant of Military Hospital Jalandhar said that the blood collected during the camp will be specifically used for the welfare of veterans and their Next of Kins in consonance with the ethos and rich traditions of Vajra Corps known as ‘Defenders of Punjab’.
