Fatehgarh Sahib, March 27, 2020: Fatehgarh Sahib may be the first district in the State where the district civil and police administration have developed a fool proof mechanism for the distribution of free ration to the needy and poor of the poorest, who are worstly affected due to the imposition of three week curfew. The district police is also extending helping hand to civil administration in distribution of ration and essentialcommodities. Besides this the sanitisation process in the urban and rural area is going in full swing and the distribution of the essential commodities like milk, vegetables, grocery and medicines have been ensured in a very transparent manner at the door steps without any complaint from any quarter. Various NGOs and residents have highly appreciated the efforts of district civil and police administration as all essential commodities are available on a call. Amrit Kaur Gill DC said that district administration has started
distribution ration to the needy after identifying the needy families in urban and rural areas and the district police is also helping in distribution. She said that the supplies of essential commodities have already been streamlined and the vendors have been assigned the areas for the distribution of milk, vegetables, grocery, gas and medicines.
She said that the lists carrying details like the cell numbers of the vendors and their respective areas have been displayed in social media, electronic and print media besides on the face book page of the district administration. The people require any service can call the vendor and the delivery is ensured.
She said besides this e-curfew passes facility has been started anyone requiring curfew pass for any emergency work can apply on-line and he need not to come to DC office and after scrutinising the papers e-pass will be issued on whatsaap.
DC said that for the convenience of the people and for any emergency service call centres have been set up at sub division level and no complaint has been received from the people on any call centre. She said for Fathergarh Sahib sub division call centre number is 01763-232838, for Bassi Pathana 01763-232165, for Amloh sub division 01763-232498 and for Khamano sub division is 01763-233845. She called upon the people to make a call for any service in emergency on their respective sub division. She said a control room has also been set up at district headquarter with number 01763 232217 and people can also make call on this number for any requirement.
DC said that to monitor the door to door supply of essential commodities to the residents’ district has been divided into sectors and an officer incharge of the respective sector in rural areas and respective SDMs have been deputed. She said that all the four SDMs of Fatehgarh Sahib, Amloh, Bassi Pathana and Khamano are leading from front and ensuring delivery of services at door steps. She said that Milkmen and diary owners are allowed to supply of milk
from 7AM to 9AM, vegetables and grocery delivery door to door from 4PM to6PM, Gas agencies will supply gas cylinders from 1PM to 3PM, petrol pump from 8AM to 11AM. Chemist shop shall be allowed door to door delivery of medicines to the customers on their request, no one will be allowed to open shop for sale over counter. SSP Amneet Kondal said that police has started campaign to educate the people not to violate the curfew and the police personnel at ground
level have been directed not to misbehave or beat the violators rather to apprise them that police is on roads leaving their families for their safety. She said that police officers and police personnel are distributing langer and ration to the needy daily in remote areas and setting an example of service to mankind and winning the confidence of the people that police is for their help, safety and security.
