Mohindragarh (Haryana) March 28, 2020: Due to a sudden rise in demand for hand sanitizer so as to avoid spreading COVID-19 and its skyrocketing prices in the market, Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh prepared its own sanitizer in the chemical sciences laboratory by a group headed by Prof. Deepak Pant. Prof. R.C. Kuhad, Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Haryana apprised that the University has a sound knowledge base, good laboratories and the same can be used in larger public interest specifically when the sanitization like this arise.
He also informed that in the current situation, the University has a larger responsibility to extend its facilities for such noble cause. The University has been using the in house made sanitizer for its internal staff sanitization and if the need arises may extend the facilities to adopted villages. He also urged people to make good use of Sanitizer and soap to save themselves as well as others by not becoming a carrier of the virus. He told social distancing is the primary and most important step but sanitizing is also helpful. He urged students and the general public to follow guidelines.
