Chandigarh, March 29, 2020: Punjab and Haryana High Court today reserved judgement in the public interest litigation (PIL) filed by Adityajit Singh Chadha against the Chandigarh Administration’s decision to order relaxation of curfew in the city.
Appearing on behalf of the petitioner, senior advocate D.S. Patwalia argued before the court that the UT administration’s decision will increase the chances of the spread of coronavirus as more people will come out on the streets and it would be difficult to maintain social distancing and as the disease is at a stage where it is feared that it would spread exponentially, it would be wise to keep the curfew in place.
The matter will be taken up again after lunch.
