March.30, 2020: Setting a unique example Kuljit Singh Nagra MLA Fatehgarh Sahib has donated Rs.1 Lakh from his own pocket to the district administration for providing food and ration to the needy in his constituency. Besides this he had already donated his one month salary to the Chief
Minister COVID Relief Fund. He handed over the cheque of Rs.1 Lakh to Deputy Commissioner Amrit Kaur Gill.
Latter MLA holds a meeting with the Deputy Commissioner, SSP and the police and civil officials to chalk out the strategy to provide food and ration to all. He said that State government is committed to provide food to all and special arrangements are being made no one will remain without food on this land of martyrs.
He appealed to all the NGOs and the people who want to distribute the ration and serve the langer to the needy to get register with the Deputy Commissioner Office and they will be allocated the area to be served otherwise it creates chaos and some get twice and thrice and some remain without food in confusion.
Appreciating the good work done by the district civil, police and health authorities, he said that till today there is no case of corona in the district. He appealed to the people to follow the guidelines of the government and to maintain social distancing and remain at home as all their requirements will be met at their door steps.
