Mohali, 02 April 2020: The NSS team of Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri, Mohali stepped ahead to extend a helping hand to a number of working class who survive on daily wage due to COVID-19 Lockdown.
.Adhering to all the prescribed precautions, a number of essential items were distributed by the staff of CGC Jhanjeri, including water bottles, packed food, snacks and bathing soaps.The complete lockdown announced by the Government of India to prevent the spread of COVID-19 has had fruitful results as the number of cases in our country is still much less as compared to other countries. The lockdown has been put in place keeping in mind the health safety of every individual. However, there is a section of society that lives from hand-to-mouth, meaning they have to earn daily to feed themselves and their family.
CGC Jhanjeri stepped ahead to bring a moment of smile and a sort of relief with this philanthropic act. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC informed at the moment that we are doing everything in our capacity to serve and help those who are in need in this times of trial. We sought permission from the administration to carry out this activity and were mindful of the cautions prescribed. Dr. G. D. Bansal, Director General informed at the moment that daily wage working people are the back bone of the society and their contribution cannot be underestimated, and in this tough time it is our duty to return back the favor in whatever way we can.
