Chandigarh/Nawanshahr, April 7, 2020: Fateh Singh (35), the first victim of coronavirus in Puniab, has successfully recovered from dreaded disease after he tested positive along with his family members after the death of his father, Baldev Singh.
After recovering, Fateh made an emotive appeal to the people of the state from the quarantine ward of civil hospital, Nawanshahr.
He has urged everyone to meticulously abide by the guidelines issued by the government, health department and the administration regarding precautionary and preventive measures to check spread of the epidemic.
"Moreover, strong will power as well as faith in the almighty can help you to swim through any situation," he said while sharing his experiences during treatment in the isolation ward.
Fateh, resident of village Pathlawa, was diagnosed with coronavirus on March 20 and admitted to the isolation ward of the district hospital, Nawanshahar.
He tested negative for the disease on April 4 and 5. Now, he is in isolation ward and will be discharged soon.
A person is declared cured after two samples taken a day apart test negative. Such persons no longer infect anyone else.
