Chandigarh, December 6, 2018: The Supreme Court appreciate the role of Tehsildar Samrala – Navdeep Bhogal - while deciding the decades-long land dispute.
Around 132 Kanal land dispute case of 1960s between Gurbachan Singh and Gurdial Singh, involving 15-20 parties, being pursued by the third generation in the Supreme Court was decided during November, 2018, with special reference of strenuous efforts of Navdeep Bhogal Tehsildar Samrala who was directed to complete the process to find a solution to the decades-long dispute among the members of the family and submit his report to the Court.
The court too has felt that at least in the third generation the litigations should be given a quietus. The Apex court has also directed the District Collector, Ludhiana to give an appropriate appreciation entry in the Annual Confidential Report – ACR of Navdeep Singh Bhogal, as on account the efforts taken by him the Court is in a position to put an end to the litigation.
Speaking to Babushahi.com, Navdeep Singh Bhogal, Tehsildar said, On orders from the Court, both the parties were called and my detailed report with maps prepared by appellants, respondents and by me, was submitted to the Court which helped the court to decide the oldest case in the history of Supreme Court.
He further said, the remarks of the Supreme Court appreciating my role deciding one of the oldest cases in the history of the Supreme Court is itself a good achievement in my service career.
