S.A.S. Nagar, July 15, 2020: In view of fresh directions issued by State Government, Girish Dayalan, IAS, District Magistrate, under Section 144, has issued revised orders to contain the spread of COVID19.
According to these orders, Social gatherings in the district shall be strictly restricted to five persons and gatherings at marriages, and other social functions shall be restricted to 30 persons (instead of 50) and funerals to 20 persons. The Management of Marriage Palaces/ Hotels shall be responsible to adhere to these orders in letter and spirit. In case of any violation/flout norms their licenses shall be suspended forthwith. The Management of Marriage Palaces/ Hotels/ other commercial spaces are required certify that the adequate arrangements for ventilation of indoor spaces have been made.
Other public gatherings shall be strictly disallowed. FIRS shall be registered against the violators.
The orders mandate wearing of masks in work places/offices/ closed places. All District Heads of the Departments are to ensure that public dealing in offices shall be curtailed to cater to need based and urgent issues. The online Public Grievance Redressal System is to be extensively popularized and used.
There shall be no physical presentation of demand charters by Associations and serving of tea, etc. shall be avoided.
All District Heads of the Departments to ensure that physical meetings of more than 5 persons shall be avoided.
Besides, for Optimum Utilization of Health Infrastructure Civil Surgeon is to ensure that asymptomatic/ mildly symptomatic persons with no co-morbidities/vulnerabilities shall have to be in COVID Care Centers/Home Isolation where applicable. Beds in Level 2 and 3 facilities shall not be used to cater asymptomatic/low risk patients.
The Health Department shall also ensure that for optimum utilization of resources a person in a Level 2 or 3 facility who no longer needs this facility must be referred by way of reverse referral to a lower level treatment facility.
For Dengue/vector borne diseases prevention, sanitation drive shall be undertaken by both Municipal Corporation, Municipal Committees in urban areas and BDPOs in rural areas on campaign basis.
All concerned shall ensure compliance of advisories issued on different subjects by the Health & Family Welfare Department, Punjab.
Any violation shall invite criminal proceedings under the relevant provisions of the Disaster Management Act 2005 and the Indian Penal Code, 860.
