Ferozepur, June 24, 2016: The ‘chakka jam’ bPunjab Roadways Contractor Workers Union entered third day today.
Addressing the union members sitting on dharna, Resham Singh Gill, Punjab President condemned the lathi charge, tear gas, water cannons on the peaceful demonstration at Chandigarh on June 23 injuring about 50 persons including 8 workers from Ferozepur. In protest against the indifferent attitude of the government, the Ferozepur Depot remained closed for two hours today, he added.
Giving ultimatum to the government, Gill said, in case there is no solution to the demands of the workers, in the meeting fixed for June 27, there will be complete chakka jam in the state besides sitting on dharna in front of the residence of Chief Minister at village Badal and further intensifying the agitation.
