Ferozepur, June 29, 2016: Today, Maulana Usman Rahmani visited Central Jail Ferozepur to distribute Ramzan material to 3 Pakistani and 12 Indian Muslim inmates.
Ramzan, is a month of extreme significance for Muslims and is observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting to commemorate the first revelation of the Quaran to Muhammad according to Islamic belief. Likewise, it is observed by inmates in Punjab jails also with complete devotedness.
The holy month of Ramzan emphasizes on prayers, charity and other good deeds at the same time seeking forgiveness for past sins and guidance in the righteous path.
For the last 15 years, a special programme is launched to provide Iftar and Sehar to Muslim inmates every year for full month of Ramzan through the Al Habib Charitable Trust under the tutelage of Shahi Imam of Punjab Maulana Mohammad Usman Rahmani Ludhianvi, National General Secretary, All India Majlis Ahrar Islam.
Speaking on this occasion, Ludhianvi said, “Our effort is that the prisoners should adopt the path of goodness by expressing repentance from guilt.”
He said, Our trust provide all the required material to the jail inmates required to observe all the ‘rozas’ of Ramzan Sharif and reading Namaz which include prayer rugs, caps, rosaries, books, new dresses for Eid and eatables.
Conveying this thanks to Shahi Imam of Punjab, Surinder Singh Saini, Supdt. Jail said, the initiative by the Trust is appreciable and our effort is also that all Muslim inmates in the jails perform their prayers during the holy month of Ramzan according to their religious rituals.
