Moga: Self Help Groups to help district admin to increase vote percentage

Moga, April 7, 2024 - Self Help Groups working in district Moga have pulled their shocks to increase the vote percentage in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections to be held on June 1, 2024. SHGs have taken the responsibility to aware voters at the grassroots level.
While giving this information, District Election Officer - cum - Deputy Commissioner Kulwant Singh said that SVEEP Activities are being organised in the 135 Village Organisations(VOs) under Punjab State Rural Livelihood Mission Moga so that the representatives of the Self Help Groups can further aware the members of SHGs.
Hence, 2000 Women SHGs will be covered within the month. Each Self Help Group has 10 women members.
Approximately 50 Active Women have been identified from SHGs of all blocks and appointed to organise SVEEP activities in the Village Organisation.
Further, Active Women not only organises the SVEEP activities but also identifies at least 10 new voters from each Village Organisation. SVEEP activities have successfully been organised on 30 VOs of the district to date and 300 representatives of the SHGs have been sensitized to cast their vote.
The District Election Officer said that the district administration was committed to achieving the '' Is Baar 70 Paar " goal set by the Election Commission of India (ECI). He appealed to the residents to cast their votes and motivate others to strengthen the democracy of our country.
