Documents required to carry more than Rs 50,000 in cash -Tarn Taran DC
If more than 10 lakh cash is recovered, the case will be referred to the Income Tax Department

Tarn Taran, April 09, 2024: In view of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, vehicles are being checked across the district for strict implementation of the Adars Election Code.
According to the rules, if cash of more than Rs. Necessary proofs of ownership have to be submitted. In the absence of such proof, this amount can be confiscated.
Apart from this, if more than 10 lakh cash is recovered from someone, then such a case is referred to the Income Tax Department.
Giving more information in this regard, District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Taran Taran Sandeep Kumar said that if you have more than 50 thousand in cash during the trip, then you should have the necessary documents with you.
He said that if more than 50,000 cash is recovered from someone and he cannot present any document related to this cash on the spot, then this cash is confiscated once and the person who has this amount is at the district level. can appeal to the constituted Grievance Redressal Committee.
Therefore, a three-member committee has been constituted under the leadership of the Additional Deputy Commissioner General-cum-Additional District Election Officer.
He said that if someone's cash is confiscated as above, he should apply at the office of the Election Tehsildar Taran Taran. And can appeal to redeem his cash by attaching all the proofs.
The District Election Officer has appealed to the residents of the district that it would be better not to carry more than 50,000 in cash and if necessary, they should have sufficient proof of their amount to prove it. They can prove that this cash is theirs and they have all the proofs in this regard.
He said that F. S. T. Vehicles are being checked at various places across the district, including teams, to prevent misuse of money in elections.
