Ferozepur, July 27, 2016: Under the Swachh Bharat campaign initiated by Prime Minister Narendera Modi, the Beas Railway Station in Punjab was adjusted as Swachh Station of India during a survey conducted by the Railways.
DRM said, After Beas railway station, Gandhi Nagar in Gujarat has come at the second place.
The survey was conducted through interviews by survey teams at 407 stations that fall under 16 zones and every passenger was asked to rate the cleanliness of stations objectively based on 40 different cleanliness parameters on feed back of around 1.34 lakh passengers.
When asked about the reason behind this, DRM said, Beas Railway Station is one of the cleanest railway stations of India because cleaning work is carried out with the cooperation from the followers of Radha Swamis.
