Ferozepur, September 25, 2016: Northern Railway Ferozepur Division, marking the eighth day of the ongoing nine day long public outreach Programme “Swachhta Saptah” as ‘Swacch Samarpan Diwas” (Dedication for ensuring Cleanliness) officers and staff of Northern Railway expressed solidarity through Public outreach programme like Prabhat Pheris and cleanliness drives at stations. Nukkad Nataks for Cleanliness awareness was held at Anand Vihar Terminal station in the capital and at several stations on the various divisions of Northern Railway.
On Friday, Northern Railway observed Swacch Samvad Diwas in which Officers at the helm interacted with rail passengers and sought feedback on improvement of rail services. The top management briefed media persons of the various highlights of this outreach programme and broad action plans areas for cleanliness in public interface areas. 69 cleanliness drives undertaken, 534 persons were penalised during anti-littering drive and an amount of Rs 66,870 realised as fine on Friday.
Earmarking each day with specific focus area for spruce-up, the cleanliness programme has certain defined thrusts like Swachh Stations (Clean Stations), Swachh Railgaadi (Clean Train), Swachh Neer (Clean Water), Swachh Parisar (Clean Complex), Swachh Sahyog (Cleanliness Participation), Swachh Samvad (Cleanliness Dialogue), Swachh Samarpan (Dedication for ensuring Cleanliness). On the final day of the Swacch Saptah that is 25th September 2016, the Railway plans to bring to focus Swachh Aahar (Clean Food) through special drives and inspections. Northern Railway is committed to continue this Cleanliness drive on sustained basis.
