Dr. Jayadev Sarangi
New Delhi, September 26, 2016: Dr. Jayadev Sarangi, IAS (AGMUT 2002) Secretary,(Delhi Minorities Commission), today assumed the Additional Charge of Director Cum Secretary (Information & Publicity), vice Shri S. S. Yadav, IAS, proceeding on study leave. In a order issued by Govt. of NCT of Delhi Dated 21/09/2016 Shri Sarangi has been ask to hold the additional charge of the assignment of Director Cum Secretary, Information & Publicity, Delhi Govt..
Dr Jayadev Sarangi is a career Civil Servant from the Indian Administrative Service, AGMUT cadre, currently posted as Secretary, DMC(Delhi Minorities Commission), in the Government of NCT of Delhi. Immediately prior to the current posting in Delhi he served as Member (Administration), Delhi Jal Board and Secretary to the Government in the Government of Goa.
He holds a Ph.D. in the field of Management from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi and a Masters degree in Sociology from the Department of Sociology, Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi.
Dr. Sarangi has rendered more than 30 years of service in various capacities in the Management Grade of public sector "Indian Bank", Ministry of Railways and Department of Sports and youth Affairs, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, Government of NCT of Delhi, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, Government of Goa and the United Nations Organization and contributed as Sports administrator, Law Enforcement official, Trainer, Researcher, Planner and Policy maker. He has made substantial contribution to the criminal justice system in my capacity as Magistrate, Superintendent, Deputy Inspector General, officiating Inspector General of Tihar prisons, Delhi,Inspector General of Prisons, Goa and United Nations Organisation Expert.
In his long service career Dr. Sarangi has been acknowledged across the world for system building and organisation reforms. Prison Reform model and protocol for drug and HIV prevention developed by him has been adopted not only in India but also in many other Nations.
