Hoshiarpur: 23 October, 2016: “All the development works being carried out by different departments should be completed before the set cut-off date. Quality of the works should not be compromised”. These instructions were issued by Deputy Commissioner, Anindita Mitra, while presiding over a review meeting called to take stock of development works on Friday.
Anindita Mitra directed the officials to step up and accelerate the ongoing development works. She asked them to send utilisation certificates, where ever the works has been completed. Any kind of laxity will not be tolerated.
Anindita Mitra told babushahi.com “The meeting was convened to speed up the development works. We often take stock of the progress of the works”. She said “Procurement process of paddy is going on smoothly. Lifting and payments are being done in a stipulated time”. More than 10318 MT paddy has been lifted from the markets and 81% payments have been made to the farmers”.
Anindita further told “Mai Bhago Vidya Scheme is proving very beneficial for the girl students in the district”. During 2015-16 session 9147 cycles were distributed to girl students of 11th and 12th classes at the cost of Rs 2,38,83,983/-. During 2016-17 session 4991 cycles has been distributed to students of 11th class. The scheme was launched by the government in 2011 to encourage girl students studying in government schools to continue their studies even if their schools are located at a distance from their homes by providing bicycles to girls.(APS Brar 9814313405)
