All development works at Amritsar to be checked: Anil Joshi
Amritsar, Feb 18, 2017: Local Bodies minister Anil Joshi reviewed the development works in Amritsar at a meeting of the senior officers presided over by him here on Saturday.
It was discussed that the quality and quantity of various development works undertaken after 1.4.16 within the limits of the MC Amritsar need to be checked and deviation if any need to be pointed out. Samples may also be taken, wherever required for checking at PWD or any other reputed laboratory.
For this a five member team of all Chief Engineers of the department and Technical Advisor would be visiting Amritsar on February 21-23, 2017 for an on the spot checking and the ACSLG would be monitoring the entire operation. At the same time, the quality of work of BRTS, especially at Batala Road will also be checked.
If need be the CE(B&R) may also be associated. The representatives of the third party engaged to conduct the financial audit i.e. Engineers India Ltd should also be associated for the quality and quantity audit. Wherever any deficiency in works is observed visually too, it should be got rectified.
Similarly in regard to the sewerage works in 10 panchayats in the area of MC Amritsar, necessary inspection will be got done at the level of the CEO, PWSSB immediately.
Necessary modalities will be worked out by the office and a report will be submitted latest by 5.3.17 by the ACSLG to the LGM.
