DC Sonali Giri
Nawanshahr, March 17, 2017: (APS Brar) One of the most popular women bureaucrats of Punjab, Sonali Giri assumed the charge of Deputy Commissioner, SBS Nagar on Friday. Earlier, she was Commissioner, MC Amritsar with additional Charge of ADC (G) at Amritsar.
Having Post graduation degree in Business Administration (MBA), Sonali Giri joined the elite Indian Administrative Services 2009 and started his stint in administrative services as SDM Malerkotla. Afterwards, she served as SDM Abohar,ADC Ferozepur, Bathinda and ADC (G) Faridkot, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Moga.
Deputy Commissioner was accorded warm welcome by officers of the different departments of the district. The district Police presented Guard of Honour. ADC Bakhtawar Singh, SP Harinder Pal Singh, DSP BS Sekhon, SDM BangaJyoti Bala Mattu, SDM Balachaur Jagjit Singh, Assistant Commissioner (G) Anamjot Kaur, Assistant Commissioner (Grievances) Sarabjit Kaur, DDPO Gurnetar Singh were among the officers present on the occasion.
After assuming charge, in her first interaction, Sonali Giri said that it was matter of pride that she had got the opportunity to serve the SBS Nagar district, known as progressive and very good administered district of the state. Describing her priorities for the district, she said that his prime goal, would be to maintain the tradition of always keep ahead SBS Nagar, be it development, welfare schemes or other public interest.
She assured that she would take special interest to get complete the work of fourlaning of Phagwara-Rupnagar National Highway besides ongoing work of Mini Secretariate.
