Bathinda, May 24, 2017: (APS Brar) In order to solve the problem of stray animal in cities and villages, the need is to work at village level. Under this the sarpanch, panch, nambardar and chowkidar of villages of district Bathinda have been asked to give their report on stray animals. The main motive of this report was to monitor the population of stray animals in villages.
Deputy Commissioner Bathinda Diprava Lakra stated this while addressing monthly meeting convened to review various works of the district. Addressing meeting convened to discuss the stray animals, he said that these committees will ensure that stray animals from village are not abandoned in another villages of cities. He said that some villages have their own cattle pounds to take care of the stray animals and other villages should also follow the suit.
Addressing the meeting of District Road Safety Committee he stated that it was mandatory for the school vehicles to install speed governors so that the speed of vehicles can be monitored to avoid any risk to the safety of students. He added that schools should follow the Safe School Vahan Policy and the concerned officers were directed to ensure that the same was implemented effectively.
Talking about the route permits issued to buses he said that if a bus operator was not plying bus despite having permit, action should be taken against him. Similarly, if an operator was plying bus without a permit, strict action should be taken against him. He directed the traffic police to ensure that the wrongly parking buses are challaned.
Besides this the Deputy Commissioner conducted meeting with all revenue officers, BDPO, agriculture officer and district welfare officer too. The ADC (D) Dr Shena Aggarwal, ADC (G) Rahul Chaba, District Revenue Officer Harsharanjit Singh, SDM Rampura Narinder Singh Dhaliwal, SDM Talwand Sabo and other officers were also present.
