Chandigarh, May 29, 2017: Haryana State Vigilance Bureau has caught Subhash, Clerk, Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam, ‘OP’ Sub-Division, Gharaunda, district Karnal, red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 4,200 from Parmod Kumar, resident of Village Araipura, district Karnal in lieu of correction in the electricity bill of the complainant’s shop.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Bureau said that a case has been registered against him under sections 7 and 13 of Prevention of Corruption Act at Bureau’s Police Station at Rohtak. He said that in an another conviction case, the Court of District Sessions Judge, Jhajjar has convicted Lakshay, computer operator (contractual basis) in the office of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Jhajjar with four years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs 8,000.
He said that Lakshay was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 1,000 from Ganesh, resident of Village Beri, Jhajjar in lieu of providing BPL certificate to the complainant. Earlier, a case was registered against him on the basis of raid conducted.
