Ludhiana, August 10, 2017: District Administration has proposed to equip all anganwari centres with solar fans. Anganwari centres, which do not have fan facility till now will be covered in first phase. Remaining centres will be covered in second phase.
While giving information, Mr. Pardeep Kumar Agrawal, Deputy Commissioner said that 2400 anganwari centres were being run by government in district Ludhiana. Out of which 314 centres do not have fan facility besides other basic infrastructure available. To complete these basic requirements in centres, district administration has proposed this initiative. Accepting this propose Jagraon based AP Refinery has taken responsibility to get installed 70 solar fans in Jagraon and Sidhwan Bet blocks.
Mr. Agrawal said that although the total cost of a fan and installation charges would be higher than that of normal electric fan but in terms of consumption of power and bill, it would be very cheap. 100 Watt panel would work for 25 years. Moreover, Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) will provide the maximum subsidy too.
He directed to District Manager Peda Mr. Anupam Nanda and District Programme Officer Mrs Rupinder Kaur to try to get equipped all anganwari centres with solar fans till December 2017.
He appealed to corporate sectors to come forwarded to contribute the society under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities. He thanked to Mr. Arun Goyal Director of A P Refinery for his kind consent toward social cause. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Gen) Mr. Iqbal Singh Sandhu and District Public Relations Officer Mr. Prabhdeep Singh Nathowal were also present in meeting.
