Kont Pali/Mahendragarh, August 15, 2017: Village children and students of Central University of Haryana (CUH) joined by faculty members, teachers and officials of the university today celebrated the 71st Independence Day at a colorful function in a campus. The main function was held at lawn outside administrative block were Chief Guest and Hon'ble Vice Chancellor of CUH, Prof.R.C.Kuhad unfurled the tricolor with NSS cadets saluting the flag when the National anthem played.
The University premises wore a festive look with tricolors flag and flowers adding to the ambiance. Highlights of the cultural program included 'Manjari' group songs and dance performances by Tanisha, lakshya, and Kavita set the tone by their beautiful rendition of patriotic songs.
Delivering the Independence Day speech, Prof.R.C.Kuhad said " we are here because of sacrifice of our freedom fighters and soldiers who are protecting our borders. It is our responsibility to do work hard for making of New India. "
Prof.kuhad further said, "I am thankful for University fraternity and local people who support us for the betterment of the university. Prof. Kuhad said in his address that university has got NAAC 'A' grade in this year, University grant commission (UGC) gave us Swami Dayanand Chair and in MHRD's Visakha campaign CUH got high rank in central universities. Discussing future planning prof. Kuhad further said, "a new boys and girls hostel construction work will be started soon, employees and faculty houses will be handover next two months, water supply through the canal will be started soon and we are trying to work cultural and educational development of adopted villages."
Among those who attended the function were Registrar Mr. Ramdutt, dean academic affairs prof. A.J Verma and others.
