Jalandhar, September 16, 2017: Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma today underscored the need for channelizing the unbounded energy of the youth in a positive way for drifting them away from the menace of drugs.
Addressing the gathering during the prize distribution function at the APJ College of Fine Arts here today, the Deputy Commissioner said that the youth was full of energy that could be used in any direction for the welfare of society. He said that whether it was the field of sports, arts, literature or any other, the Punjabi youth has always shown the way to their fellow countrymen by excelling in their respective fields. Mr. Sharma said that these activities need to be promoted amongst the youth for tapping their hidden potential.
The Deputy Commissioner, while lauding the College for its rare feat in field of art and culture, said that this certainly helps in perpetuating the glorious culture of the state and country amongst our younger generations. Citing the example of images which were reminisce of the art of Indus Valley Civilization, Mr. Sharma said that though the creator of those images were not amongst us today but he was still alive through his creation. He called upon the youth to come forward and excel in life so to bring name and fame for the country in general and the state in particular.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner distributed the prizes amongst the outstanding students.
The Principal of the College Dr Sucharita Sharma on the behalf of college management welcomed the Deputy Commissioner and thanked him for sparing his valuable time.
